Skincare Items!

Hey guys! So, I'm back again just 2 days later...Why? BECAUSE I HAVE MY CAMERA BACK!!! WOOO!!! If you didn't know already or if you didn't guess by that into, my camera was available for pick up at the weekend so I went and got it and started blogging straight away! I've decided I'm going to introduce a new schedule for my blog as follows: New post every Monday, Wednesday and Friday with 1 post at the weekend plus any bonus posts I feel like throughout the week if I get a chance. How does that sound? It isn't gonna be easy for me because that's a lot of commitment but if I want my blog to move forward then I need to put in the time. Let me know what you think of the new plan!

Anyway, as for today's post since it's Wednesday! I've decided to blog about things that I think are essential in everyone's skincare routine. I have to admit, I'm dreadful at keeping up a skincare routine because I do it really well for a while and then I just start forgetting and not bothering. However, I'm trying again because looking after your skin is really important and I'm not going to put myself to shame any longer. So, I'm going to share a few of my favourite things to use in my skincare routine so you guys can get some ideas.

Firstly I'm going to talk about my skin type so that you guys know my skin type and how these products that I'm about to talk about help me. I have really, really oily skin however somehow I still get really dry skin on my nose that peels off. (If anyone knows what that might be please let me know because it's really annoying!) The fact that I have really oily skin is so irritating because the oils always come through my makeup throughout the day so I have to keep topping up.However, the more I use some of these products, the less issues I have with oily skin the next day.

The first product I want to talk about is the face wipes I use. I use the Pure Deep Cleanse Complete Cleansing Wipes. I've been using these for a little while now and I recently went out and re-purchased them. They are in no way expensive, you can get them 2 for £1 in Poundland and most other shops like Home Bargains and B&M Bargains etc. On the packet it says the following "Deep cleansing action with purifying agents and zinc. Cleans and unclogs pores, removes makeup an unwanted oils protecting against blackheads and impurities." These wipes are brilliant for taking off makeup and I think they help to prevent spots as well because since I started using them I haven't had anywhere near as many spots. They make you feel really clean after using them and I think that they're really good quality for what you pay. This is the first step I take when washing my face at night.

The next product I want to talk about is the Simple Kind to Eyes Eye Makeup Remover. I've used this for I don't even know how long now and even when I've tried other makeup removers, I've still ended up going back to this one. It's empty in the picture because I need to get a new one but it's just to show you. I think this is between £3-£5 in Boots and Superdrug but you can pick it up in places like Home Bargains sometimes for cheaper. I usually use this either before or after using a wipe depending on the amount of eye makeup I have on. It's really gentle and works amazing with a cotton pad. I can't really complain about it and it's such an important stage in removing makeup at night because there's nothing worse than having old eye makeup on when you're trying to do your makeup the next day.

Okay, so the third product I want to talk to you about is cleansers. Now I currently use 2 different ones but they are both in the picture. The cheaper one that I use more often is the Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser and the more expensive one is the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I really like the Simple one mainly because it's really fun because it's a foam but it makes you're face feel really clean afterwards. I think it's around £5 from drugstores but I wouldn't quote me on that because I'm not too sure. The Liz Earle one is my absolute most favourite thing in the whole wide world. The bottle in the picture is only a 30ml tester size but you can get much bigger bottles I've just run out of that one. You get a muslin cloth with it which you use with hot water and apply the cleanser. It feels a bit weird on your hands but when you take it off it is the most amazing feeling in the world. It is on the more pricey side but it's totally worth it if you can afford it. I usually use cleanser after I have taken all of my makeup off and in the morning sometimes before I put my makeup on.

The next product I'm going to talk about is the Simple Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion. This is a substitute or a change from using a wet cleanser because this can be applied by using a cotton pad. I really like it because it makes your skin feel really good. You may have noticed a lot of Simple stuff in this post but it doesn't affect my skin in a bad way so I really like it as it's really sensitive to your skin. I think this is probably around £3 in drugstores but again please don't quote me on any of the prices because I'm not 100% sure. I use this after taking my makeup off instead of using the foaming cleanser or the Liz Earle cleanser. Like I said it can be applied by a cotton wool pad but I would recommend rinsing your face about 10-15 minutes after or just once it has soaked into your skin just so no residue is left on your face over night as this could cause spots etc.

The next thing I would normally do is apply and then rinse off a face scrub. I cannot stress enough to you how you should NOT use a face scrub/exfoliator more than twice a week unless it clearly states on the bottle that you can use it more than that because you will literally scrape your skin off your face. The one I'm using at the moment is the Tea Tree Daily Use Cleansing Facial Scrub for Clean Healthy Skin. Now, mine clearly states on the bottle that it is suitable for everyday use but I still don't do that because I don't want to kill my skin. It's up you what you do with face scrubs but there is always a recommended amount of times weekly on the bottle somewhere. I've had this for absolutely ages and I think I only payed £1 odd for it in Home Bargains but it just lasts such a long time with it being 250ml because you don't need loads of it. Personally I love the smell of tea tree but some people hate it so do what you will with that.

One thing I try to do twice a day is moisturise. This might sound stupid coming from someone with oily skin but for the dry skin I get on my nose and the application of makeup, moisturiser makes things so much easier for me. I have found that the one I have to show you doesn't work very well for me so I'm on the hunt for another one (ideas or tips would be helpful) but it's just as an example. So the one I have currently is the Clean and Clear Dual Action Moisturiser Oil Free. Now you can probably see why I bought this, the "oil free" part really screamed my name on the shelf. I'm going to finish the bottle but I think I need to try something else because it doesn't really help the dry skin on my nose which is what I need it for. Overall it's a good product I think because it makes your skin feel good but it's just not really for me personally. I think it's between £4-£5 in shops.

The last thing I will do only gets done once a week as it's a face mask. I'm trying to try out new face masks because I love using them because it's so relaxing but I want to try and use them more often. The one I'm using at the moment is the Quick Fix Facials Exfoliating Scrub Mask for Blackheads and Blocked Pores. I don't really like the smell of this one too much but the blackheads and blocked pores bit jumped out at me because I get quite a lot of blackheads on my nose and the odd spot. It says to be left on for 5-10 minutes so you can just put it on when you're in the bath and just chill - that's what I do! It feels really good afterwards and it's totally affordable!

There is one final thing I'm going to talk about which isn't a skincare product it's actually a makeup product that I've talked about before but it really helps my skin. It's the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation for up to 16 hours of Perfectly Glowing Complexion and Toned Skin.As you can tell by how much is left it's a well loved foundation of mine. It has amazing coverage and it stays on all day without letting too much of my natural oils through which is a miracle for people with oily skin. It says it contains apricot, melon, apple and ginger which makes it smell amazing too. The reason why I've included this in here is because it is the only foundation I've tried that doesn't break me out at all. No matter how much I use it or how much I put on it just doesn't break me out and I love it. I think it's about £10 so totally affordable and totally worth it.

So, I hope you enjoyed that! It's a lot longer than I expected so I'm sorry if it's been 2 really long posts too close to each other but I didn't plan on this being so long so here you go anyway! Well done if you got this far!
I wanted to say that I don't get paid or made to review any of these products and if I did I would make it clear in the post. I will be reviewing some products for a PR company very soon as they emailed me asking to review some stuff so keep an eye out for that coming up too! I'm really excited to be doing something for a PR company as it's the first time I've done anything for one before!

Anyway, sorry this was so long but I hope you got some tips from it anyway! Thanks again guys, I love you all loads! See you next time!

  1. Great post again, I think the Monday Wednesday Friday thing is great, but it is a LOT so don't feel like you absolutely have to do it. I have the dry nose thing too, and to stop it, I use a facial scrub a few times a week. This gets rid of the flaky sling and makes it feel nice and smooth. You should try it out! Xx can't wait for Friday!
