60's/70's Inspired Hair Tutorial

Happy Monday! Monday again, don't we all love it. Not.

It's the last part of my 60's/70's series today and we're leaving the 60's/70's stuff here after that but before that, I have to share my hairstyle with you!

You will have seen how my hair looked when it was finished in my post from the party which you can read here but I thought I'd share how I did my hair in a step-by-step guide for you guys to have a go at if you want to :)

What I really liked about the way I did my hair for the party was that it had that 60's/70's vibe about it but it's not too over the top or too obvious that it's fancy dress so it can be worn as an everyday hairstyle as well. Please make sure to let me know in the comments what you think about the look :)

Finally, before I start with the tutorial I just wanted to say I apologise for not having every single step on here like I have done with previous hair tutorials but like I think I mentioned on my 60's/70's makeup tutorial post (which you can read here), I was very rushed as I had dancing which left me only 2 hours ish to get ready so I was slightly rushed! Hope it's okay none the less! :)

Okay, so the first thing I did was pin my fringe back and then tie up the top section of my hair and sections from the sides in a half ponytail at the back of my head. I left small sections down in front of my ears on each side to frame my face.

It takes a lot of clips to get a full fringe to stay in place! I also pulled out some of the hair from the half ponytail and then I tightened it to give a bumpit or beehive effect.

Next I picked up my Nicky Clarke curling tongs and began to curl my hair bit by bit. I did this a lot faster than I would normally due to being very rushed for time but I would recommend leaving the hair on it for about 10-20 seconds depending on your hair strength and type.

The Nicky Clarke curling irons go up to 230 degrees but I just put it up to 200. Enjoy the attractiveness of my face here.

Can we all please just take a moment to look at how well the camera caught the moment that the curling iron fell off the windowsill and singed my rug. Missed my shoulder by about a cm, nasty!

All I did now was pull out my fringe from the bobby pins and straighten it the way I wanted it. For the party I did actually have a thick black hairband in but I didn't take a proper photo of that so if you would like to see that click here.

And finally, if you would like to see how I did my makeup in this post, I did a makeup tutorial on this look last Monday which you can go and read here. Also, if you would like to see the outfit that I wore for this party, you can do so by clicking here.

I hope this was okay, I do apologise for not having every single step in as much detail as I would normally but I was so rushed and I just didn't have the time!

See you all on Wednesday :)

Bec x
