Book Review: Catching Fire

Happy Thursday! Wait...WHAT!?

Yeah, it's Thursday and I'm publishing a post! Who ever heard of such things!?

I decided that because not everyone likes to read about my opinions on books because not everyone reads, I thought that I would try to squish these posts together one after the other (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday) then I could get back to my usual beauty and fashion posts at the weekend rather than next week. How does that sound?

So, if you read my post yesterday you will know that I'm writing a 3-part series consisting of the 3 Hunger Games novels. Today I'm going to review Catching Fire (book 2 of 3). Yesterday I reviewed The Hunger Games (book 1 of 3) which you can read here, and then on Saturday or Sunday you should see a review of Mockingjay so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Catching Fire is the 2nd book in The Hunger Games series and in my opinion, the best.

Again, I'm not going to say too much about the book because I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't read it and wants to but I'm going to give you my verdict so that you guys can decide whether you would like to read it.

All of the books continue on from each other really well - so well that as soon as I finished reading The Hunger Games, I immediately started reading Catching Fire because I was so hooked. Catching Fire without-a-doubt keeps you totally hooked all the way through and I promise you, you will not be able to put the book down even if you want to!

Catching Fire has a huge twist to it from The Hunger Games and in my opinion, the twist is the best part of the whole series because it throws the whole story line back into the air and you're yet again, wondering what is going to happen.

It's still based mainly around Katniss and Peeta so you are still following this journey these 2 people go on all the way through and all of the bumps they face along the road.

You experience all emotions possible in reading this book; fear, empathy, anger, sadness and happiness but even once you get to the end, your questions still aren't answered.

In my opinion, the end of Catching Fire is the best way to end a book because the way this book ends means that you can't just leave it there, you have to pick up Mockingjay and get started on it straight away! (Or at least I did!) I think the way Suzanne ended this book was perfect because it ensures that readers move straight onto the next book! (Sorry, getting over excited and my English Literature skills are sneaking in, #NERD)...

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book because it had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through and it left me on such a cliffhanger I picked up the next book straight away!! I highly recommend reading this book (obviously read The Hunger Games first or you won't understand anything) because I promise you won't be disappointed.
