Day Out In York

So, I'm currently feeling like the worst blogger in the world...

I haven't posted anything in about 2 weeks and honestly I can say this without any lie, there isn't one day I haven't thought about how bad of a blogger I am for leaving my blog to die for so long, I hope you can all forgive me.
Going back to school has really taken it's tole on me and I've honestly been so busy and I've also had a really nasty virus which I still have now but I am feeling a lot better. So, it's safe to say I just really haven't had the time to do anything and I don't know how long it's going to be that way for.
I'm sure a lot of you guys will be in the same position as me and if so I really hope you can see where I'm coming from in the matter that I have had so much school work and I really just haven't been very well at all.
This post I actually wrote about a month ago but I wanted to put something up for you tonight because I felt it had been way to long and then I realised I hadn't yet put this up so this is what you're getting tonight I'm afraid! At least it's something!
I hope you enjoy it and I hope you don't all hate me for abandoning my blog for so long because I love you all very much and I hate leaving my blog for such a long time.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this post and don't hesitate to contact me through social media or through the comments because who knows when my next update will be! Hopefully not too long, mwah x

York is possibly my favourite town in the UK if I'm being completely honest. It's so cute, has pretty decent shops and it has all the history that still stands stronger than a lot of other cities. Yes, all cities have cathedrals that are years and years old but York just has a really historical feel about it and it makes me really happy. Who doesn't love York I mean come on...

I went to York on a day trip with some of my closest friends a little while ago and I decided I would do a little post about it. Slightly out of date but you guys don't mind! As always, this is a lifestyle day out type of post so there are going to be a lot of photos to explain the day really!

The weather was pretty rubbish but you can never guarantee good weather in the UK because it's just so unpredictable, even in the middle of August. But, we still managed to make it a fun filled day, but it did get very stressful very quickly... I'll explain at the end...

So I guess we'll start from the very beginning at Newcastle Central Station at 8.30 in the morning, Starbucks in hand, of course.

And then we arrived!

I believe this is the River Ouse but I'm not a local so I'm probably wrong.

This is possibly one of my favourite parts of York, the Minster, it's just so pretty and I love it a lot.

Of course having such a beautiful photo feature meant we had to take multiple photos with it...

And into the Shambles! Possibly the cutest part of the town!

When there's a Nando's, you just have to go!

And that's about all the photos we took because it was too rainy to whip our phones out.

I hope you enjoyed this post because we had a lovely day.

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell you about our stressful end to the day! We got lost basically and caught our train with about a minute to spare. We went the complete wrong way and ended up asking multiple people, including Siri, where we were and how we were meant to get back to the train station. It was extremely stressful because I think we had all accepted the fact we were going to miss our train by the 10 minute warning for our train and we still weren't at the station. Lesson to be learnt: leave plenty of time to get to the train station.

Have you ever been to York?

Anyway, until next time!

Love, Becca

50 Blog Topics For You To Try

Recently, a few of my "blogging friends" have been stuck in a bit of a rut with what to write about, and I absolutely hate it when I'm in that place so I wanted to try and help them out a little. But then I thought, I can help them and maybe a few other people too if I make this into a post!

So, I have sat for a really long time, no seriously, this took me ages, to come up with 50 different blog topic ideas that you might fancy writing about, or it might just be enough to make a spark in your mind that gets you going. I was going to do 100 originally, but I couldn't come up with anymore! I was struggling after 25! Whatever happens, I just hope this post gives you a little bit of inspiration for something!

1
Write about what you did today, whether you sat around the house watching Netflix or went out on the most amazing adventure of your life, write about it. Someone is interested.

2
Review a product you have really been loving recently, or hating! Go into a lot of detail about it, you might just push someone to buy something... Or completely put them off... Both options are fine!

3
Share your Instagram photos or Tweets from the past week. Not all of your readers will see every update, if any, so put them on your blog where everyone can see them! So easy to do as well!

4
Write about a topic you feel really passionately about. Obviously, this topic has to be within reason but if you feel passionately about something, you can write great things about it.

5
Show us your bedroom. A bedroom says a lot about a person, and therefore it's a great way to allow your viewers to get to know you better!

6
Write down all the things that are on your bucket list. I love reading bucket list posts, not only does it make me look up to people in a different way, but it makes me add things to mine!

7
Share an event that happened recently, a birthday party, Christmas, Easter, whatever it may be. Share some photos from your day and tell us what made it special.

8
Share your favourite memories. It could be from well back in your childhood or just yesterday. A blog is a great place to look back on memories, use it!

9
Focus a whole post on a brand that you love and tell us all the reasons you love it. It's kind of just like a big review, but it makes for really interesting reading!

10
Write a story. That sounds weird but you can write a story that is 5 words long! Let your imagination run wild for one post and see what comes out at the end...

11
Show us how to do something, for example a tutorial of some kind. I do a lot of makeup and hair tutorials mostly, but it could be baking or even cleaning! Anything you like.

12
Share something amazing you did. Give us all the details and tell us why you were so proud of it, something that made you feel really good!

13
List a load of random facts about yourself, something you know very well etc. It's a super easy post to write and it makes really interesting reading for many different audiences!

14
Show us what you're wearing today. It doesn't take any effort at all because we all wear clothes so all you need to do is take a photo and write a little bit about it! Easy peasy!

15
Tell us about a time you were really embarrassed... It's like those embarrassing story sections in magazines, they always make people laugh!

16
Do a TAG. There are so many TAGs out there now, I think it would be impossible to do them all! They're really easy to do and are fun to read if you don't do them too often.

17
Share an experience you had that effected you in some way, good or bad and tell us why it had that effect on you.

18
Share some childhood photos. I love these posts because it shows a different side to people and sometimes they can be quite humorous!

19
Back to school tips. Let's face it, we all need a little help around the back to school time so why not share some words of wisdom? You might just help somebody out...

20
You could share your current playlist or your current favourite songs. People will either agree or disagree, or they might find their new favourite song!

21
Show us what you've been buying recently, a haul basically! Everyone loves seeing what people have been buying, especially stores that don't deliver *cough* Primark *cough*

22
You could write a post all about where you live, showing people the good - or bad - parts of it and why you love - or don't love - living there!

23
Alternatively, you could write about where you're originally from if you've moved. You could then also explain why you made the decision to move, what you miss etc.

24
Do a "monthly favourites" so discuss what things you've been loving this month and why you've been loving them.

25
Talk about why you decided to start your blog. Every blog has a story and it's always nice to read the story behind it because it's not always what you first see...

26
Write a list of all the books you would like to read in your lifetime. This will only be suitable if you like to read, but you can gradually check them off your list and feel good about it!

27
Write advice for people. Sometimes people go through rough patches and need some advice, pick a good topic and write your best advice for anyone going through it.

28
Set a bunch of goals for yourself and post them on your blog. If a goal is written or posted somewhere you are much more likely to achieve it, and it's nice to read other's goals!

29
Confidence. I think this is such a huge topic to write about and so many people do it, but it's an amazing topic to write about, in my opinion. Give it a try and see what you think...

30
Step out of your comfort zone and write about it. Do something really outrageous for your personality (within reason) and write about how it made you feel.

31
Show us your day in photos. Take a photo of what you're doing every hour or couple of hours throughout the day. It's a different way to share what you did in a day, super easy too!

32
Do something crafty and show us how you did it. It could be for a specific occasion or just because you wanted to, show us something new!

33
Write about your meals today. Take a picture of each meal, tell us about it. I like food. Who doesn't like food? So why aren't there more posts about it!?

34
Do your good deed of the day. Do something for someone else and tell us exactly what you did and how you felt after doing it. It will always brighten someone's day.

35
If you're confident enough, share some of your diary. I would never do this personally, but if you have the confidence someone else might have a bit of a giggle, or a cry at your diary entries...

36
Talk about a time you were really angry about something. Again, this is to do with passion. Passion makes really great writing, within reason...

37
Discuss why you don't have a YouTube channel, if you don't have one already. Are you planning on making one? Why? Why not?

38
Do a look book. Take photos of all your outfits this week and share them all in one post. It could be seasonal or occasional, the more unique the better!

39
Collab with someone... Pick any topic you want and turn it into a collaboration! Still the same post, but it adds a little extra twist to it and makes it more interesting!

40
Gift guides. I always need help when buying presents for certain people so gift guides are always a huge help to me!

41
If it has been your birthday or Christmas recently, share some or all of the things you received. I think it's lovely to see what people get!

42
Educate us on something you are an expert in. Were all really good at something so why not share your specialty with the rest of the world!?

43
If the idea of doing a whole room tour scares you, show us snippets of your room. E.g. your desk, bedside table, dressing table etc.

44
5 beauty products under £5, 10 beauty products under £10 etc. Really simple to do if you own a lot of makeup etc.

45
Show us your makeup collection. No matter how big or how small, it's so interesting to see what products people have and how they store them!

46
Your morning/nighttime routine. This could be skincare, or just general lifestyle, however you want it to be! And it just goes by your normal day!

47
Talk about all the things you love and hate about being a blogger or blogging. We all have our love-hate relationship with our blogs and sometimes it's nice to share it!

48
Tell us all the different places in the world you would like to go. My list would be endless! Then you can go back and look at it later and see if you've managed to check some of them off!

49
Go for a walk and take some photos them share them with us. Photography is beautiful whether you have years of experience and the best camera or a Nokia camera phone.

50
Wardrobe essentials. What must you absolutely have in your wardrobe to survive? Everyone is different in this way which is what makes life interesting!

Wow that took a hell of a lot longer than I thought it would! Almost got writer's block whilst trying to avoid writer's block!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I hope it was helpful to you in some way and I will see you again very soon!

Turning 17!?

So today I have a more photo-heavy post as it was my friend Steph's 17th birthday party last night, and there's a few photos I want to share to say the least... You guys know what I'm like with photos!

I'm still struggling to get my head round the fact that my friends are starting to turn 17! It's just over 6 months until my 17th and that scares me a lot... Please take a moment to pray for the people of the roads...

Anyway, I'm sorry if you don't like the posts filled with photos of me and my friends but I like to write them to look back on my life and the things I've done. But, on the other hand if you do like posts like this then you should be in your element right now, so enjoy!

Oh, and it's not camera quality, it's all iPhone quality so apologies for that!

This is the result of us 3 getting ready together...

I was really excited about my smores...

Cheers ladies!!

More excitement over marshmallows...

I promise we can take serious photos!

SHE WASN'T READY

Told you!

I apparently found this a lot funnier than everyone else...

This is how it was meant to look...

Birthday girl!!!

Only putting this one on because Amber loves it ;)

Birthday girl again!!

Stuffing my face as per usual!

So that was a lot of photos... And that isn't anywhere near all of them!

But, it was a great night and I love these guys very much!

Well done for making it this far and I'm sorry again if this isn't the type of post you like to see, but there will be something new tomorrow which might be more for you!

Have you been to any parties lately?

My Bedside Table

I have wanted to do a room tour for a really long time now, but I had my room redecorated about a year ago now and I'm still not 100% happy with everything. There are pictures I want to go up etc. so I don't want to do a full room tour until I'm fully happy with it.

However, I've decided that until I'm happy with everything, I can still show you snippets of things that I think look okay at the moment. Today I went for my bedside table/box because I had no where else to put the box so it's being the best of both worlds! I'm not 100% happy with this either, but I'm never happy with anything so I'm always going to be searching for improvement. But, here it is anyway, there aren't many things on it right now but it looks tidy that way so it's good enough!

So, as you can see, there isn't really a great deal there, but I'll work on it!

I'll start with the black screen in the corner that you're probably wondering why I would want a black thing sitting on my bedside table. It's actually a digital photo frame which some of you probably worked out straight away, oh well. I didn't switch it on for the photo because it wasn't really focusing on the screen and it just didn't look right but at night or sometimes during the day I'll just have this on a constant loop of loads of my photos which is really lovely because it means I can have a lot of photos on show without having cluttered photo frames everywhere!

Next thing is a book. I will always keep the book that I am in the middle of reading on my bedside table because I like to read before going to bed in the evenings, so it's just handy to keep it there. At the moment, I am reading The Kill Order by James Dashner which is the prequel to The Maze Runner. I have read through the whole series so far and this is the last one so I might do a review of the series if you would like to see that, just let me know in the comments! All I'll say now is that it's been a great set of books and I've really enjoyed reading them.

There is also a candle sitting on here which was around £2 from Primark I think, maybe £3. It's in the scent 'appletini' and it smells amazing, I can't even describe it to you. I fell in love with it when I found it and I was going to get the smaller one until I spotted this huge 60 hour one and went for that one instead! I don't really burn candles much in the summer because it makes my room really warm and I just don't really feel it's a very summery thing so it just sits there looking pretty until winter comes around again!

I have another photo frame over in the right hand corner which has a picture of me and Matt in it, who is my boyfriend for anyone who doesn't know. My gran bought me this photo frame for Christmas because I had a photo of Matt and I sitting on my bedside table already, except the only frame I had left to put it in was a friends one which he wasn't too happy about so I asked for a new one to put it in. It's just a really simple silver metal one, it goes with my room and it's a place to put the photo so I'm happy! And so Is Matt now that I'm not referring to him as my friend in a photo!

And finally the last thing I keep on my bedside table are my TV remotes because I'm lazy and keeping them anywhere else means getting up to switch the TV on, wow I sound like such a couch potato... It's just convenient to have them there really!

And that's everything that I keep on my bedside table! There's also often a drink of some description and some food sitting on there too but I kept those out of the photo because well, I'm not sure really!

I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you did I also have a Dressing Table tour post planned for the next few days so keep your eyes peeled for that if you would like to see a more beauty related post! If that goes down well, I may think about doing a makeup collection and storage post but we'll see!

See you next time!

What do you keep on your bedside table?
